At Lewis Reed (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we are committed to delivering highly researched, accurate, and original insights while maintaining the highest standards of trust, integrity, and transparency.
As advanced technology becomes standard in professional environments, we reserve the right to utilise artificial intelligence (AI) systems as assistive tools for research and content creation.
This policy outlines how we responsibly integrate AI into our digital platforms and our marketing, specifically regarding our written and visual content, and how we protect our audience’s trust in compliance with global standards, including the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Article 50).
Geographic Scope & Passive Overflow Disclaimer: This website, our services, and our commercial communications are targeted exclusively at audiences and clients located in the United Kingdom (and/or other designated non-EU regions) and are not directed at the European Union (EU). Because modern digital distribution networks and global social media platforms (including LinkedIn, Meta, and TikTok) are globally accessible, certain localised materials may occasionally be visible to users within the EU. Any such cross-border exposure is strictly passive technical overflow and does not constitute active marketing, commercial placement, or service targeting within the European Union under the territorial scope of the EU AI Act. Consequently, while we voluntarily maintain high ethical content standards, our standard operations are legally exempt from the statutory transparency and labelling mandates of the EU AI Act.
Written Content and Substantive Editorial Control
We believe that artificial intelligence is an excellent thought partner, but it should never be used on autopilot. While we may use advanced AI systems (such as Large Language Models) to assist our team with research compilation, brainstorming, structuring outlines, or drafting introductory paragraphs, we do not publish raw, unedited AI-generated text.
To protect our readers and satisfy the legal requirements of Article 50(4) of the EU AI Act, we enforce the following safeguards:
- Substantive Human Review: Every piece of written content published in our marketing undergoes a process of rigorous, manual human review, factual verification, and editorial modification. Human editors verify the facts, Interrogate cited sources, ensure brand voice consistency, and rewrite all drafts to insert original thinking, localised context, and human empathy. AI tools are used as a research and drafting partner, not a content producer.
- Exemption from Public Disclosure: Because our AI-assisted text is subjected to this comprehensive human-in-the-loop review, it is exempt from mandatory public AI-labelling requirements under Article 50(4). We assume full ownership of the final output.
- Clear Line of Editorial Responsibility: We designate a number of specific legal or natural person who holds editorial responsibility for each piece of published text which has involved any use of ai on this website.
Visual Content, Images, and Illustrative Purpose
We occasionally use high-quality graphics and visual assets to enhance the aesthetic appeal and readability of our digital content. Some of the images, backgrounds, and conceptual illustrations on this website are generated or modified using advanced AI systems (such as text-to-image diffusion models).
To ensure absolute clarity and prevent any risk of deception, we declare the following:
- Illustrative and Conceptual Purpose Only: All AI-generated visual content on our marketing material is used purely for decorative, illustrative, or conceptual purposes (such as blog headers, social media posts abstract patterns, or metaphorical representations of ideas).
- No Representation of Real Entities: No AI-generated image on this website is intended to represent a real live person, a real commercial product, or a real-world event. They do not depict actual employees, actual customers, or real physical products.
- Non-Deceptive Nature (Exemption from Deepfake Labels): Because these images are purely decorative, surreal, or abstract, they do not possess the “false appearance of being authentic or truthful” in a way that could mislead or deceive a reasonable observer. Therefore, they fall outside the scope of “deepfakes” as defined under Article 3(60) of the EU AI Act and do not carry conspicuous, disruptive public labels.
- Embedded Provenance Data: In accordance with Article 50(2) of the EU AI Act, the AI tools we use the companies have a responsibility to automatically embed invisible, machine-readable cryptographic metadata and watermarks (e.g., C2PA standards) into the image files at the point of generation to preserve file provenance.
- Product Imagery & Visual Enhancements: To present our items in the best possible settings, we occasionally utilise advanced AI tools to optimise our product photography by adjusting background environments, enhancing scene lighting, or performing standard colour corrections. These tools are used strictly as creative, supportive editing assistants. Crucially, these enhancements in no way alter, modify, or misrepresent the physical product itself. Every item displayed remains authentic, unaltered, and structurally accurate representation of the real-world product you will receive.
Data Privacy and Secure Workflows
When utilising AI tools for research, drafting, or content optimisation, we prioritise the protection of proprietary, sensitive, and personal data in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and local privacy laws:
- Data Minimisation: We do not feed customer personally identifiable information (PII), confidential client data, or proprietary business information into public AI tools.
- Safeguards: Our team utilises secure AI environments with strict data-use policies. These configurations ensure that our inputs and research prompts are never used to train publicly available AI models where there is any data involved covered by GDPR, we reserve the right to use any ai model for purposes that do not involve the used of data that can be used to directly or indirectly identify an individual, unless formal consent has been received.
- Ongoing Auditing: We regularly audit our internal content-generation pipelines to detect potential algorithmic biases, verify security controls, and keep our practices aligned with emerging global compliance frameworks.
