The new Volkswagen Transporter Shuttle WAV has been expertly developed by Lewis Reed to deliver outstanding accessibility, comfort and everyday practicality.
Available now in both Shuttle Life and Shuttle Style models, the vehicle offers seating for up to seven passengers, flexible wheelchair travel positions including a front wheelchair passenger position, plus the ability for the wheelchair user to transfer into the driver’s seat for independent driving.
Features include side and rear wheelchair access options, digital displays, smartphone connectivity and USB charging throughout the spacious modern cabin.
The GRANDE high-roof version, together with the short ramp and lowering suspension conversion, is expected to be available by the end of the year, bringing even greater accessibility, comfort and interior space to the new Transporter platform.
Shuttle Features at a Glance
The Shuttle comes well-equipped with dual digital displays, LED lighting, air-conditioning front and rear, and key safety features like multiple airbags, Lane Assist, a rear-view camera, and parking sensors.
Passengers enjoy generous space, folding armrests, LED reading lights, and flexible seating, plus six ISOFIX for child seats. It also features Volkswagen’s We Connect services, letting you check vehicle status, plan service visits, or find your Shuttle using your smartphone.
Effortless wheelchair access, tailored to your needs
Choose from rear or side entry, with the option of electric sliding doors or a fully automatic system that opens the tailgate, lift, and doors at the press of a button.
Current access solutions include the AMF Panorama (400 kg) rear platform lift, while further developments are underway, including the Fiorella Twister (250 kg), Autolift Side Lift (300 kg), the TorSpring© rattle-free ramp, a GRANDE high-roof version, and enhanced lowering suspension for an even smoother, quieter ride.
Flexible Seating with a New Upfront Passenger Wheelchair Position
The Volkswagen Transporter Shuttle WAV offers outstanding flexibility, with wheelchair travel positions available in row 1, row 2, or row 3 and seating for up to seven passengers.
Now available from Lewis Reed, the new upfront wheelchair passenger position allows the wheelchair user to travel alongside the driver, creating a more inclusive and sociable journey with excellent forward visibility.
Flexible tip-and-fold seating makes it easy to adapt the interior for different passengers and journeys. A transfer-to-drive option with a powered six-way transfer seat is also available, and every conversion can be tailored to suit individual requirements.

Independence, Your Way
The Shuttle Upfront WAV is available now, giving wheelchair users greater freedom, independence and choice.
Wheelchair users can travel alongside the driver in the upfront passenger position. A transfer-to-drive option is also available, using a powered six-way seat to make transferring into the original driver’s seat easier.
Choose between a rear platform lift with an automatic tailgate or an underfloor side lift with an electric sliding door. Both can be operated using a compact remote-control key fob.
