The new Volkswagen Transporter Shuttle WAV has been expertly redesigned by Lewis Reed to deliver exceptional accessibility, comfort, and independence. Available in Shuttle Life or Shuttle Style, with advanced diesel engines it’s built for families, independent drivers, and professional transport needs.
We’re developing this vehicle to offer seating for up to seven passengers, flexible wheelchair positions, side and rear access, digital displays, smartphone connectivity, and USB charging — bringing premium everyday convenience to a modern, spacious cabin.
We are also planning a GRANDE high-roof version, lowering suspension, and the full range of advanced conversion developments already perfected across Lewis Reed vehicles, ensuring outstanding accessibility, comfort, and refinement in every journey.
Shuttle Features at a Glance
The Shuttle comes well-equipped with dual digital displays, LED lighting, air-conditioning front and rear, and key safety features like multiple airbags, Lane Assist, a rear-view camera, and parking sensors.
Passengers enjoy generous space, folding armrests, LED reading lights, and flexible seating, plus six ISOFIX for child seats. It also features Volkswagen’s We Connect services, letting you check vehicle status, plan service visits, or find your Shuttle using your smartphone.
Effortless wheelchair access, tailored to your needs
Choose from rear or side entry, with the option of electric sliding doors or a fully automatic system that opens the tailgate, lift, and doors at the press of a button.
Current access solutions include the AMF Panorama (400 kg) rear platform lift, while further developments are underway, including the Fiorella Twister (250 kg), Autolift Side Lift (300 kg), the TorSpring© rattle-free ramp, a GRANDE high-roof version, and enhanced lowering suspension for an even smoother, quieter ride.
Flexible Seating Designed Around You
The Transporter Shuttle WAV is engineered for maximum versatility, with seating for up to seven passengers and a choice of two wheelchair positions. You can choose to travel in row 2 or row 3, and every layout can be tailored during the conversion process to meet your individual needs.
Further enhancements are already in development, including a front wheelchair position, drive-from-wheelchair capability, a powered six-way transfer seat, and new row 3 configurations featuring tip-and-fold seating.
These upcoming options will offer even greater flexibility, comfort, and independence for every journey.

Independence, Your Way
A new Volkswagen Transporter Shuttle Upfront WAV is in development, designed to give wheelchair users greater freedom, independence, and choice. It allows users to drive directly from their wheelchair or transfer easily using a powered six-way seat.
Access will be available via a rear platform lift with automatic tailgate or a side lift with an electric sliding door, all operated using a compact remote key fob.
Once inside, the vehicle can be tailored with additional driving adaptations to ensure full control, clear visibility, and a safe, comfortable driving experience.
As with all Lewis Reed conversions, this new Shuttle variant is engineered for maximum functionality, flexibility, and comfort — setting a new standard in Upfront WAV design.
